feather 32u4 bluefruit power

by thinkR on Sat Sep 14, 2019 1:26 am

I want to power a bluefruit with 2,3, or 4 aaa batteries, but am a bit baffled about how this is done without a step up/step down regulator to 5V to the USB socket. I have read https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-fea ... management and i understand that this board is geared towards using a 3.7V lipoly pack. is it possible to power this without a regulator using aaa? how many and to which pins?

Call me old fashioned.
Thanks

There is a pretty good thread on this topic.

It suggests connecting the USB and GND pins from 3xAAA pack. Since any USB cable being plugged in will try and charge your battery pack it also recommends a diode for protection.
