I used this tutorial to make an LED blink on my new Huzzah32:

https://makeabilitylab.github.io/physcomp/esp32/led-blink.html

Everything worked great so I decided to take it one step further and replace the USD connection with one of these (connected to a 5V switching power supply):

Not only did the LED stop blinking but smoke started coming out of the Huzzah32. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I suspect it was your power wiring.

Double check it all. Triple check it. Then check it again. Before you plug anything in.

Alas, if you saw smoke, I doubt the board is functional now. I suppose there's a chance it still works... but smoke is a pretty bad sign.

Fortunately, the board still works when I plug it into my computer. I tried the same setup with a 5v wall wart, again nothing. Then I tried the 5v micro USB wall wart that I use to power my Raspberry Pi and it worked. Any ideas?

How is the first wall wart wired to the circuit? I assume the Pi one is plugged directly into the feather?

I have a barrel jack connector. The + goes to the + strip on the breadboard, the - goes to the - (similar to the picture above). Then the + is connected to E and the - is connected to A on the micro USB converter in the picture above.

That's correct. Is anything else connected to the Feather's power pins (directly or indirectly)?
