hazzah32 feather board

Post by spector5 »

hallo,
I am using hazzah32 at my new project. I am trying to connect the usb port to a one more lipo charger .
but unfortunately i am not sure if it is possible to charge 2 lipo batteries from one feather.
Is at the output of the usb port there is diode that connected that will prevent from current to pass throw that port?

The USB pin is connected directly to the 5v line on the USB connector. You could conceivably power an additional LiPo charger with that pin. You would have to consider the current requirements, though. A typical computer USB port can only provide 500mA. Any more and it will probably get locked down.

You can't use the on-board charger to charge 2 LiPos through.

HI Dave,
many thanks I apricate your help and your quicks response.
after looking more deeply on the schematic I could understand that it is possible.

However since the Usb port from the computer- the charger at the huzzah32 made for 200 mA charging current and also supplying the esp32 that require 200mA with Wi-Fi.
so from what I understand it cant charge more then 100mA (battery number 2 with different lipo charger)? So it will require to be charged from 1A charger port.

many thanks!!

Right, the typical USB port has a 500mA limit.
