Pointing LED Pin to JST on propmaker for neopixels

by HunterDarkwolf on Fri Jan 14, 2022 4:08 pm

I have the Featherwing Propmaker, and one of the Feather boards (Adafruit Feather 32u4 Basic Prot). Just got some JST connectors in so I could hook the neopixels into the propmaker. Currently using the JST PH 2mm 3-pin Plug to Color Coded Alligator Clips Cable, to test that code works before soldering JSTs onto the neopixel strip. However, when I compile and upload code to the board, it uploads, and nothing happens. When I plug the wires directly into the feather's headers (without using the prop maker board) it works. I think some of my issue is that I'm not sure how to point the sketch to the JST/Prop maker board. I'm using the strandtest example. The relevant bit of code is
// Which pin on the Arduino is connected to the NeoPixels?
// On a Trinket or Gemma we suggest changing this to 1:
#define LED_PIN 5

I've tried pin 1, pin 5, and pin 6 with no results.

Pinout info is here:

You'll need additional code that enables power for the NeoPixels:

There's an Arduino example here:
