eInk Quote display using ESP8266 Moderators: adafruit_support_bill, adafruit

Hello, I'm trying to adapt Dan Cogliano's awesome eInk quote display designed for Feather Huzza32 and one of the older TriColor E-ink displays.

I'd like to use my spare ESP8266 board along with my new ThinkInk 2.9" Tricolor display. I tried converting the code but get errors O-penty.

Any advice? The ESP8266 apparently does not like this library #include <HTTPClient.h>.

Are you able to get the basic display going with our example here on an ESP8266? We can get the compilation errors and more advanced features once you get the display up.

Oh yea, I have that sketch going no problem, plus the Image Display sketch going, SD card, everything works very well.
I'm just trying to get the quote sketch going since that is an awesome use of the eink setup.

The quote display is being powered by a ESP32 Huzzah. If you are using a different board like the ESP8266 I would expect issues with the networking library.

You could get a Huzzah or any of our M4 / AirLift boards which there are several eInk guides for as well.

Alternatively if you want to explore getting the ESP8266 to work with earlier versions of the ArduinoHttpClient library. Our guide suggests starting at least version 0.2.0
