Metro Mini 328 5V Programming

Post by BDL »

What do I need to do to program the device? Can't seem to get it to program blink. Item 2590.

Device name? Is it "Adafruit Feather 328p"? Something else? Nothing obviously matches.
Which programmer? USBtinyISP? Something else? None of the ones I tried seem to connect

The message I am getting is:

Code: Select all

Arduino: 1.8.19 (Linux), TD: 1.57, Board: "Adafruit Feather 328P"

Sketch uses 936 bytes (2%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32256 bytes.
Global variables use 9 bytes (0%) of dynamic memory, leaving 2039 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes.

avrdude done. Thank you.

An error occurred while uploading the sketch

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.
There is no setup info on the product page, nor links to one. This is unlike say the M4 Feather Express, which I am familiar with.

Do I need to setup drivers for this? Currently connected as /dev/USB0

When I ask for board info I get
BN: Unknown board
VID: 10C4
PID: EA60
SN: Upload any sketch to obtain it

Thanks. Any guides or pointers would be helpful.

The board name was wrong.
This device is "Adafruit Metro", or at least it will program as that.
Used the USBtinyISP programmer.

It would be helpful to know the board name on the product page.
The markings on the board say Metro Mini. The product tag says Metro Mini. The device is a 328.

The tutorial page is at https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-metro-mini but it doesn't seem to be linked from the product page, for some reason. It says to select "Arduino UNO" as the board type.

Seems odd. The product page should link to that page.

Upon rereading the product page it does say to use UNO as the board, so I guess that is sufficient. I must have missed that the first time around.
