Huzzah32 Measure Current Draw?

by sargun on Tue Jan 16, 2018 10:08 pm

How come when I try to measure current with my at the J2 port, my Huzzah32 doesn't boot? It's drawing current, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to complete boot. Alternatively, is there another place to measure current on the board?

Check the voltage between the BAT and GND pins when you have battery power flowing through the ammeter.

Most ammeters put a resistor in the current path, measure the voltage across that, then calculate the current from the voltage. The price is that you lose voltage from one side of the meter to the other.. it's called the ammeter's 'burden voltage'. Sometimes the burden voltage is high enough that there isn't enough voltage left to run the circuit.
