Feather Huzzah ESP8266 Weather station

by plane_pilot on Mon Apr 16, 2018 8:32 pm

I am trying to setup the weather station powered by a USB cable. I have followed the directions and used all the part listed except the switch and battery. I have uploaded the code, setup wifi and the display shows all the correct information. But as soon as I unplug the usb cable and power it back up, the screen is white. I have to upload the code again to get the weather to show again. I only setup the wifi once, so that information stays. I'm trying to determine why the code will not work after unplugging.

There is a workaround for that. It has to do with the screen not starting up in enough time to take the data.
Right before the screen init starts put in a delay for a few micro-seconds
In the weatherstation tab in the IDE
add the delay function.

delay(10);
tft.begin();

Please show me where exactly I would put this delay code in the weather station IDE . I do not see where the screen init is.

delay(10);
tft.begin();

Try adding it right before this line:

That did not work. The screen will still turn on to all white. Any other ideas?

I changed it to 100 instead of 10 and it works. Thank you!
