Feather ESP32 Port Not Recognized

Post by jimwims »

I received a Feather ESP32 today and am trying to upload Micropython to it from my iMac 10.13.6. I am unable to identify the port to use. Running ls -1 /dev/tty.* shows only the same 2 ports (/dev/tty.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port /dev/tty.Makeblock-ELETSPP) regardless of whether the Feather is connected with the USB cable. I use the same port on the Mac and the same USB cable to connect to an ESP-WROVER-KIT regularly. When it is connected, two additional ports are listed (/dev/tty.usbserial-00001014A /dev/tty.usbserial-00001014B). Can you tell me where I have gone wrong? TIA

Folks,

I'm seeing the same issue. Could you share what the remedy was?

I am running Micropython on my ESP32. The below webpage includes a reminder about downloading a SiLabs CP2104 driver if you are using the Arduino IDE. I'm not using that IDE but decided to try downloading the driver anyway. That seems to have solved the problem.

Hope this solves your problem.

Hi, I'm having the same issue but I have Windows 10. These remedies are all for Mac OS... what would be the steps for me to do with my OS to fix this?
