ESP 32 Huzzah feather battery switch

by scotech on Wed Mar 27, 2019 12:55 am

I have a project that requires an on off switch to shut the ESP 32 feather battery off whilst plugged in to the battery jack. I need to be able to charge the battery while the switch is in the off position, how can I do this as well as run an LED only when charging the battery with the USB port.

I would like to use a 3.7v 2600 ma Li-ion battery, is there likely to be any issues charging it with the on board charger?

Sounds like you could use the EN pin:

which will turn off the 3.3V regulator which is the power for the ESP32. Batter charging runs off VBUS, so would still work.

Hello,
I have wired up a Huzzah to some LEDs with a power Switch as noted in these instructions but I have a couple of questions:

1) Is there a way of increasing the charge rate to greater than 100mA? I'm using a 2000mAh battery and it takes a long time to charge it.
2) The light always seems to stay on when charging. I expected it to turn off once the battery was full. Is that incorrect?

Appreciate your help!
