We received a Adafruit TFT FeatherWing - 3.5" 480x320 Touchscreen for Feathers that has cold solder issues. I would like to have it replaced.

Attached are several photos of the device, with some of the connectors in question. The issue is with pins 12-16 of the connector to the TFT board. These pins include MOSI and MISO. The connector pins doe not appear to be properly soldered to the associated pads on the board. There is no connectivity between the connector and the associated test points. If I put light pressure on the pins, they make contact with the pad, and therefore complete the circuit.

Without the SPI bus it renders the screen inoperable.

As another test for goodness - the display also works then?

We can replace this. But that's also a pretty simple solder fix if you have a soldering iron and are willing to try? Might not even need to add solder. Just some heat to reflow what's there. Your call.

If we put pressure on it the display does work. We can do the reflow, but if we do that and it doesn't fix the problem or there are other issues will you still replace the product?

Yep. Totally. This won't void a warranty or anything since it's something I'm asking you to do. If those few cold solder joints are all that's happening, then hopefully it's a simple fix.

Reflow appears to have fixed the issue. We'll update this thread if we have any other issues, but for now it looks good.

Awesome. Thanks for being willing to try a self fix. These get tested, but the test rig probably does the equivalent of the pressure you applied to get it to work. Hopefully it'll be all good now.
