Feather nrf52840 usb port broken

Post by jaysjagani »

Hi,

I recently recieved an Feather nrf52840 sense in the mail. Upon its arrival I noticed that the option to select the port for the board in the arduino ide was grayed out, which was quite confusing. When I plug it in, the neopixel briefly flashes red, and the blue connectivity LED does not turn on. I have tried the same thing with multiple USB Cables across multiple computers, and my only conclusion is that the USB Port on the device is broken. The board has zero modifications and doesn't even have headers installed. I believe a replacement board is not an unreasonable request seeing as this board came broken in the mail

Does anything happen if you double-press reset?

Does the amber charge light flash rapidly (with no battery connected)?

Does any drive get mounted (CIRCUITPY or FTHR840BOOT)?

No worries. These newer boards are sometimes weird with Arduino. If you have trouble having it connect, a) make sure no serial app is open on the port, and b) try double-resetting before (or while) it is looking for the port.
