Powering HUZZAH32-ESP32

I understand that the USB pin provides access to the 5V available when you use a USB cable to power this board. Is it also possible to connect an external 5V source to the USB pin to power the system?

As long as you don't plug in the USB at the same time. There's no protection; the USB pin is connected directly to the 5v lin on the USB connector.
