Crickit Hat USB Access Pi Terminal

by Basteon on Tue Jul 07, 2020 3:40 pm

Hi,

tried to find an answer to my question in this forum but no success so far.

The Crickit Hat ought to have:
- Built-in USB to serial converter. The USB port on the HAT can be used to update the seesaw firmware on the Crickit, or you can plug into your computer, it will also act as a USB converter for logging into the console and running command lines on the Pi.

I mean it has the USB port but I'm unable to access my Raspberry Pi via that connection. Is there any documentation for this function?

Thanks
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Good point about the Crickit Hat having a USB serial console and our lack of documentation for it.

Have you been using a known good DATA USB cable on the Crickit's microUSB port?

You will have to setup the Pi to enable a serial console and then connect to it from the Pi itself (over USB cable) or another machine (mac/linux/windows). We have directions here for setting up a serial console connection on a Pi over USB based on another adapter we sell.

Thanks alot!
