The USB side of the gizmo is labeled on the back of it.

I have a eInk gizmo on the way to try things out with.

I am still trying to figure out what is going on.. I had the eInk board replaced and have tried it on two different Circuit Playground boards without success

I've tried the tutorial once again and have come to the same conclusion, no life from the e-ink display. I'm going to see if a new unit can be sent and will report back!

Hmmm.

I unpacked the Gizmo, removed the post stickers, screwed it onto the CPX, compiled and uploaded the code and it worked fine.

What version of Arduino are you running? I have 1.8.12.
Are all your libraries and board packages up to date?
Do you have the correct board selected in the Tools->Board menu?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for continuing to help with this.

Arduino 1.8.13 (Windows store 1.8.42.0)
All libraries are up to date.
The board is up to date. Version 1.8.8
The selected board is "Arduino SAMD (32-bits ARM Cortex-M0+) Boards" -> "Adafruit Circuit Playground Express"

Does that all match your setup?

Thanks,
Craig

I'm using Arduino 1.8.12 and have Adafruit SAMD Boards 1.6.2 and Arduino SAMD 1.8.6.

I had trouble with 1.8.13.

I am on Arduino IDE 1.8.13
Adafruit SAMD Boards 1.8.8 and Arduino SAMD 1.8.6.

I am going to go back to Arduino IDE 1.8.12 and see if that makes a difference..

I just reverted back to Arduino IDE 1.8.12 without success.. Here are the versions of the libraries being used

Arduino IDE - 1.8.12
Arduino SAMD Boards - 1.8.6 (also tried 1.8.5 and 1.8.7)
Adafruit EPD - 2.5.3
Adafruit BusIO - 1.5.0
Adafruit ImageReader Library - 2.4.0
Adafruit SPIFlash - 3.3.0
SDFat - Adafruit Fork - 1.2.3

The CPX examples for the NEO Pixels work so I am sure that the board is functioning..
The one possible item may be the Adafruit SAMD Board - is this a board manager add-in or a library add-in?
