Stereo audio amplifier with headphone output?
Is there a stereo audio amplifier with a headphone jack that will work with the Circuit Playground Express?

Yes, the CRICKIT is an audio amplifier (3W) with headphone out that allows for a CPX to be plugged into it.

1 x Class D, 4-8 ohm speaker, 3W-max audio amplifier
https://learn.adafruit.com/make-it-soundThe code will use the Adafruit Circuit Playground Express board. If you have a project that is robotic, you can add the Adafruit Crickit robotics board to Circuit Playground Express which provides the benefit of an amplifier for much better sounds than that provided on the Circuit Playground Express on-board speaker

Can the CRICKIT do stereo, i.e., different sounds on two different channels? It looks like it only has mono output.mikeysklar wrote:Yes, the CRICKIT is an audio amplifier (3W) with headphone out that allows for a CPX to be plugged into it.

Ah, yes. The CPX builtin audio out, add-on amps like the PAM8302 and the Cricket will all be mono.
In terms of controller stereo audio you would be looking at using a MusicMaker or AudioFX board.

These devices will store and play the audio files and you can trigger them over serial or other GPIO interface.
