Hello.
I have some questions about the pinouts and the supplies of the Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing.
I read the information under the link :
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-mus ... ng/pinouts
and it seems that for the supply of the Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing with an amplifier, we need 2 voltages :
- 3 V on the 2nd pin.
- U V > 3 V on the USB pin or the VBAT pin (to power the amplifier).
1) Am I right when I say that we need 2 voltages?
2) What is the authorised range of voltages for U (to power the amplifier)?
3) We see that the USB and VBAT pins are at the top left of the picture, but where is exactly each pin?
4) What is the USB pin as there is no USB function on this product?
5) What is the difference between the USB pin and the VBAT pin?
Best regards.
Christian

Re: Supply and pinouts of Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing.
According to the Feather specs:
VBUS
This is the power that comes from the USB port. It should be 4.5-5.5V or so, 500mA. You can put a fuse on this pin if you like, but it is not required. This pin can be at approx the same voltage as VBAT if the USB power is removed (some of our older Feathers did this), or it can disconnect completely (our newer Feathers including the ESP32 do this with a transistor switch). FeatherWings can use this for powering larger items like servos or lots of LEDs, but they need to cope/understand that it can go away when the Feather is unplugged from USB
VBAT
This is the power that comes from the 'optional' LiPoly battery. It should be 3.0-3.7V or so, with variable current capability.

Re: Supply and pinouts of Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing.
Thank you for your answer but all is not clear for me.
Where can you find the Feather specs?
For the VUSB, you speak about an USB port, but there is no USB port on the Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing and I do not see how I could supply this module with the USB port of my computer for instance. So could you please clarify your answer?
From your answer, either I supply the amplifier with a 4.5-5.5 V voltage on the USB pin, either with a 3.0-3.7 voltage on the VBAT pin. Am I right?
Do you know the exact position of the USB et VBAT pin?

Re: Supply and pinouts of Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing.
The Music Maker FeatherWing (as with all FeatherWings) is not a stand-alone device. It is designed to plug into a Feather processor. And all Feather Processors have USB ports. For the VUSB, you speak about an USB port, but there is no USB port on the Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing and I do not see how I could supply this module with the USB port of my computer for instance.

Re: Supply and pinouts of Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing.
OK, now I understand all better.
I actually wanted to use this device as a standalone device.
Furthermore, I saw under the link provided by franklin97355 that all Feathers and Featherwings use 3.3V logic, which can bother me.
So, I'm going to choose another device.
