circuit playground issue

I've had my circuit playground express since 2019 and I've coded it 2 times and after that i have never been able to use it until I was able to purchase the battery pack for it, now when I try to code it or plug it in it turns on then immediately shuts off, as soon as it dose' the battery port end heats up, is there a way to fix this or would I have to completely replace the board? I would appreciate the help. thanks: Johnathon

There is an on/off slide switch just confirm that is in the on position.

When you unplug the battery and double tap the reset button are you able to access boot loader mode?

You will need to have a valid USB data cable to see the device, but there is a good chance that updating the bootloader could help this situation.
