AA battery holder

Post by gbrune »

I already have AA recharaeable batteries and chargers in my classrom. I want to confirm that the AA battery holder linked below from the Adafruit website will indeed work with the CP Express I have.
Thanks in advance!

Yes. 3x AA rechargeable cells will provide about 3.6V which is fine for powering the CP Express.

Hi there!
I tried looking through the support documents, but couldn't find the right information. Will 2x AA also be sufficient via either of these: https://www.adafruit.com/product/4194 and https://www.adafruit.com/product/4193 ?

No. The Circuit Playground processor requires 3.3v minimum. 2x Alkaline cells will give you just 3v. 2x rechargeable (NiMH or NiCd) will give you just 2.4v.
