My Joy Bonnet thumb stick has dead spots in the left-down and left-top corner. I found an NES controller test ROM and it shows that if I go directly to those corners, nothing registers. If I move the thumb stick in a clockwise circular motion, down works, left-down registers for a hair then nothing, left registers, then nothing at all, then up works. Right-up/down works kinda (the arc width is very small to get the right corners to register), just not left-up/down corners. I tried resetting the bonnet and rebooting many times but still same problem.
Is this a software or hardware problem?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Joy Bonnet Dead Spots
That sounds like a hardware issue.. probably a marginal contact inside the joystick's pots when they're all the way at the end of their range.
