adabox002 won't work when unplugged

Post by amysjohnson »

Hello, I have been able to get my vehicle to work with both DCMotorTest and with BLE-Black-Robot-Rover when it is plugged into my computer. When I unplug the cute little rover though, it stops working. With DCMotorTest it just quits spinning. With BLE-Black-Robot-Rover, I can no longer see it on my Bluefruit App.

I have searched for 'while (!Serial)' and cannot find it in the main code for either program. Is it perhaps in some other included file? Is there something else I am missing?

Thanks!

Amy

As a sanity check, what voltage do you see on the Feather's USB and 3v pins when the USB cable is unplugged?

How do I find the voltage? I have a multimeter but I am a beginner at this stuff and I don't want to fry my board.

Your comment about voltage gave me an idea - I realized that the red and blue lights in the front weren't working when I unplugged it from the USB so I tried plugging a lipo battery in. This made it work. Then I saw that the directions said I need a LiPo battery. Oops. Thanks for your time and patience!

Glad to hear you got things working.

BTW - we have a tutorial on using a multimeter over in the Learning System:
