Circuit Playground Express rivals the PPG Wave 3.2

Back to '82, rivalling the PPG Wave 3.2, enter the Circuit Playground Express (CPX):

Audio out (A0) shown on a Telequipment S51B (sadly with a mostly broken trigger function).

So rad, nicely done! Please hook up a bunch of these for some polyphony!

It's on my todo list. I see others have used the "replicate the hardware" technique before to address polyphony, 32 years after the challenge was issued: Mahler's first symphony, as played by 12 networked Sinclair ZX Spectrums (YouTube).

I found another example of the replicate the hardware approach, two ZX Spectrums: Andy Jenkinson: ZX Spectrum 48K Live Performance (Sinclair 1-bit music) "Jarre ing"

I can offer some David Whittaker and some Russian folk songs:

First is most famous for the part that was sampled at the end (04:11). You have to wait for the "(gate)crashers" on the second one.

Code is in Adafruit Learn: Circuit Playground Express USB MIDI Controller and Synthesizer.

I found another example of polyphony Stephen Stamper: Science Fair Microcomputer Trainer 07 (YouTube) using the 4-bit TI TMS-1100-based Science Fair Microcomputer Trainer. In that case the two are also sync'ed optically.
