Help identifying a burned PyGamer SMD

by jefish on Thu Jul 18, 2019 11:22 pm

In troubleshooting my broken PyGamer power switch, I toasted one of the SMDs on the board. It lives nearest the micro-USB connector and is labeled "R4."

The closest I can come to is a zener diode, BZX84C6V2T. Can anyone confirm, and maybe offer a link to buy just one? ;) I don't neeeed to revive this PyGamer, but it couldn't hurt to try.

Can you post a picture of the board area? R4 would usually denote a resistor.

I thought so too, but this appears to have a polarity marking.

This is a pic of the good board. The R4 item on the other board has a crater in the middle of it, so something related to the power supply, I expect. ;)
