Correct. There are sleep features that could be used to extend battery life. But they are very new - the MagTag is the first to offer them. The code would need to be re-written though, with some thought about how best to actually work sleeping in, since it's also acts as a clock. It wouldn't be a "add this one line" sort of thing.
