Can Funhouse support a HID device?

Post by RufusVS2020 »

I haven't had a chance to work on this myself, but I thought I'd float this question:

Will the Funhouse support a USB HID device? I did some HID with a Neo Trinkey
which was fun. But I didn't do much with it.

My Adabox arrived the other day, and I was wondering if it would also support HID.

My main impetus for an HID device right now is I got a new job that requires
me to enter long passwords often. Not all the entry forms are cut-and-pasteable,
so I would like an HID device to automatically type them for me.

The funhouse could be great for that. It has t. he up/down/select buttons and
a preview screen. Perfect! Has anybody done anything like that yet?

If I get further I'll add to this post.

Yes, I can confirm that you can use the FunHouse to send USB HID keyboard commands.

I actually got my "password sender" running on my neotrinkey using circuit python.
Right now if you push the top pad, it sends one password, and the bottom pad another. And gives some limited
feedback using the leds.

The Funhouse would give much more options (but is much less portable, obviously as I can leave the neotrinkey plugged into my laptop)

Current plan is to do better debouncing of the pad-touching for top/bottom/both contact. And better LED feedback.

As for the Funhouse, I still have to debug my slider issue mentioned elsewhere, and maybe use that as a more expanded key macro generator.

Thanks for the reply!
