Trinket M0, CircuitPython and Framebuf Module

by Hulker on Sun Sep 17, 2017 6:33 am

Hi,

should the CircuitPython 2.0 firmware for the Trinket M0 have the Framebuf module from MicroPython embedded? It does not seem to have this. Causes problems when trying use the SSD1306 module with the Trinket M0. Tony D has a cut down version available for Framebuf but this is lacking text support (the main reason I wish to use the SSD1306 in the first place). Thanks for your input in advance.

Nope sorry! We had to make code size trade-offs for the Trinket M0 and Gemma M0.

I believe the Express boards do have it built in because they don't need to use 64k for the internal file system.

Hi,

thanks for the reply. Understandable, concessions have to made when required. I may see if I can put a small text function together using Tony D's stuff. Other than that I can use the REPL and/or serial monitor in Arduino IDE for debugging etc. Keep up the great work on CircuitPython!

I hope Atmel will release a SAMD51 in that small package for the Trinket and Gemma! It will be nice to have a more powerful Feather but I like the tiny little Trinket and Gemma boards.
