About Clue board

Hi I am just wondering if the infrared sensor implanted in the clue board could sense and read the temperature instead of the sensor on the back? I need a quicker and more sensitive sensor to read the temperature

That sensor is for transmitted infrared light, and has a narrow bandwidth. If there were a useful temperature correlation, it would be swamped by the varying ambient infrared light.. Your best bet is a real temperature sensor, off-board, of which we have many: https://www.adafruit.com/?q=temperature ... =BestMatch

Are you trying to measure ambient temperature or the temperature of an object? This sensor may be of interest: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1747. Also a low-mas thermocouple can have fast response.

Thank you for your reply! The board that I have right now is Adafruit CLUE, I am working on a project that could measure human temperature by approaching the device to human forehead and read the temperature, since the temperature sensor implanted is not very sensitive and usually takes few minutes and not accurate, I was wondering if the IR implanted in this device could measure the temperature as a thermometer? I have attached the device on file.

My mistake, the IR sensor on this board is part of an https://www.adafruit.com/product/3595, APDS9960, which is a gesture sensor and light sensor. It is not designed for use as a thermometer at all, sorry.
