CP 7.1.0 auto start after Ctrl-C

by blakebr on Sun Nov 21, 2021 1:58 pm

Good Afternoon,

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
Adafruit CircuitPython 7.1.0-beta.0-8-g28b5733bd on 2021-11-12; Adafruit Feather RP2040 with rp2040
Board ID:adafruit_feather_rp2040

After looking at REPL and pushing Ctrl-C and continuing to look at REPL, code.py starts running!
I am not touching the keyboard, only looking at REPL data.
I do use the mouse and scroll up in REPL.

if I hit Enter to get to >>> the auto start does not happen.
At this point I must hit Ctrl-D to restart code.py.

Is there something other than Ctrl-D that can start code.py if not at >>>?

Hello,

The auto restart may have something to do with supervisor.disable_autoreload() - - - supervisor.enable_autoreload().

Still testing but it may be an artifact of hitting Ctrl-C while supervisor.disable_autoreload() is active.

When I send a new code.py while supervisor.disable_autoreload() is active, code.py does not stop and restart the new code.py (AS IT SHOULD)
If I the hit Ctrl-C while supervisor.disable_autoreload() is active and I restart code.py with Ctrl-D, when my code.py executes supervisor.enable_autoreload() code.py stops and restarts like I had just sent the code.py I had sent while supervisor.disable_autoreload() was active.

I hope this is clear.

FYI,

The main part of my code.py is executed with disable active. I then have a 15 second delay where enable is active.

Could you post your code, or a simple example, or perhaps better, file an issue? https://github.com/adafruit/circuitpyth ... new/choose

Dan,

Will 7.2.0 address this issue. I see no action on my bug report. I suspect the holidays.
