from adafruit_clue import clue TypeError:

by drountre on Mon Mar 09, 2020 7:41 am

Every time I import adafruit_clue.mpy I get the TypeError: below.
I bought another Clue thinking maybe I screwed up something, but have the same error. Every other import that doesn’t use call to clue works fine.
I have trier both - adafruit-circuitpython-clue_nrf52840_express-en_US-5.0.0.uf2 and adafruit-circuitpython-clue_nrf52840_express-en_US-5.0.0-rc.1.uf2 and the most up to date library - adafruit-circuitpython-bundle-5.x-mpy-20200307

This is my simple program to test - from adafruit_clue import clue

print('Hello World!')
from adafruit_clue import clue
temp = clue.temperature
print (temp)

This is the output:

Hello World!
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "code.py", line 3, in <module>
File "adafruit_clue.py", line 917, in <module>
File "adafruit_clue.py", line 193, in __init__
TypeError: function missing required positional argument #3

The original board worked great from adafruit_clue import clue for 2 weeks of testing
I have many other Adafruit Circuit Python/Micropython boards and Feathers that work great and have a great application for the new CLUE if I can figure out what the error is.
Thank you for your assistance.

Please verify that ALL the libraries are from the latest bundle.

Dave

Wow, your Assume !
Your use of the word “ALL” did the trick for me. I was using the latest Library, but it didn’t dawn on me that this circuitpython library is used for all the Adafruit boards, and one of the modules I was loading was for a Feather.

Again, many Thanks

Excellent! When you see that sort of error about parameters not matching up & such, if it's not because of your code then it's often due to having an old library sitting around.
