Proposal for CircuitPython 2020

by MadGeometer on Sat Mar 14, 2020 12:59 am

Is it too late to make a proposal for "What do you want from CircuitPython in 2020?"? If not, I'd like to propose:

- hardware interrupts
- some way of storing encoded data on the hardware

Thanks for your input.

1. Interrupts or a similar mechanism is under discussion in https://github.com/adafruit/circuitpython/issues/1380. Your particular use case would be interesting, because we are looking for ways to provide asynchronous processing without necessarily providing raw interrupt handling.

2. I'm not sure what you mean by encoded data, but we have json support, and you can store information by doing a remount on the filesystem (so it's not readonly to you), or by using microcontroller.nvm.

By encoded data, I mean like for example the secrets.py file - it is cleartext! Same goes for the Python programs on the device.
