pyportal pynt not recognizing keyboard

by caz345 on Tue Mar 31, 2020 5:36 pm

just got a pyportal pynt, after plugging it into the usb port to power from my mac book pro (mac OS high Sierra) I get a message saying it cant recognize the keyboard and to press the key to the right of the right shift key but nothing happens. Any ideas? I havent loaded any ide software or anything like that. Also wondering will the arduino ide and python run on a old windows XP machine? Thats my only other laptop besides the above mentioned mac.

Thanks

Hi! Simply close out of that dialog. It's because CircuitPython (always) acts as a keyboard in case your code.py wants to send key presses.

I don't know about Arduino but the CIRCUITPY drive will probably work in XP. The serial connection will require a driver.

You shouldn't need it though. I also have a MacbookPro that works just fine for both.
