CircuitPython supported hardware

by kentplum on Thu Apr 09, 2020 10:27 am

Hi
I'm wondering is there a list of CircuitPython supported Feather hardware I can refer to?

Is the below-proposed hardware mix supported?

- Feather M0 or M4 (express?? not sure what express means) - Go for the higher spec M4 I guess https://www.adafruit.com/product/3857
- Ethernet FeatherWing for Wired Ethernet https://www.adafruit.com/product/3201
- Adafruit LoRa Radio FeatherWing - RFM95W 900 MHz (already have this) https://www.adafruit.com/product/3231
- Feather with WiFi or add another wing if supported?? (I see the Adafruit Feather M0 WiFi - ATSAMD21 + ATWINC1500 does not support CircuitPython per https://www.adafruit.com/product/3010 )

I would like to experiment with CircuitPython, Adafruit IO, Azure IoT and The Things Network (TTN).

Seeking any general guidance and recommendations that you may have. Happy to look outside the above.
Regards,
Kent.

For Feather MCU boards, have a look at https://circuitpython.org/downloads. Those are the supported boards.

For sensors, have a look at https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_CircuitPython_Bundle/tree/master/libraries/drivers.

Keep in mind that the list of supported hardware gets added to constantly.

Thanks for the info Dave.

So would wiznet5k @ 5f268cf being listed in that github list suggest that the Ethernet FeatherWing is supported?

That would be my assumption. Have a look... there are several examples there.
