BNO055 Calibration in CircuitPython

by no_albert on Wed Apr 22, 2020 1:50 pm

Hello everyone,

I am trying to see how well calibrated the BNO055 is using CircuitPython on the Feather M0 Express. I know there are some functions calls on the BNO055.py class for example: get_calibration_status(self) that can do this. Though I am not sure how I can make such a call from my code, or if there is an easier way to deal with IMUs through libraries.

Is there any guides on how to get certain readings with the BNO055 in python programs?

Thanks,
Alberto Andrade

The main guide for the board has a quick example of getting the basic readings from the board: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-bno ... cuitpython

In the CircuitPython library there are two properties, calibration_status (https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_Ci ... 55.py#L230) and calibrated (https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_Ci ... 55.py#L240) which provide calibration status data. I'm not certain what you're looking for, but these may have the info you desire.
