low space after installing circuitpython on Adafruit Feather

by yaoxianglu on Tue May 26, 2020 4:19 pm

I was using bossac to install circuitpython on my Adafruit Feather M0 Bluefruit LE .
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
bossac -p /dev/cu.usbmodem142201 -e -w -v -R --offset=0x2000 adafruit-circuitpython-feather_m0_basic-en_US-5.3.0.bin
, but there is only very little space left to copy over any library. I am new to this, any help?

I'm afraid that is correct. The BlueFruit M0 does not have an external SPI Flash so there is only a very small file system available.
What libraries do you need? It should be large enough to get something running.

Just to be clear, I do not represent Adafruit Support -- just trying to help.

thank you Jerry, I just need the Adafruit Seesaw library and I thought BlueFruit M0 is supposed to support CIRCUITPYTHON. : (

It does support CircuitPython. That doesn't mean it supports all uses of CircuitPython.

The SeeSaw library is pretty big so you can probably slim it down to what you need and get it to work.

Do note, we don't support the Bluetooth module on the Feather M0 Bluefruit.

OK, if that is the case should/can I return this chip and find another replacement for my use case?

Please explain what you are trying to do. It's likely you can do it with refined software. I can give guidance but not write the code for you.

My idea is trying to use this board and Seesaw soil sensor to get soil data and send back to whatever system for my house irrigation. I tried writing code in Arduino with sample Seesaw soil sensor sample code (https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-ste ... duino-test), but it is never able to run seesaw, like "Seesaw not found" and I am more a python person so I think I prefer to use circuitpyhon. Any idea of how to make the Seesaw code working, any idea will be appreciated.

How are you going to send data to the irrigation system? BLE, USB or something else?

It'd be good to debug the Arduino example because it may be a wiring issue.
