I'm trying to interact with a webserver api that requires authentication prior to accessing the api.

I'm having no issues authenticating, however, I don't see any method for saving that into a session so that subsequent api calls are authenticated, does anyone have a method for storing session variables on pyportal for this purpose???

As you've found there isn't any support yet for managing cookies or other higher-level browser-ish features. It is certainly something that would be useful and welcome, but there isn't anything like that planned just yet.

That said, there is work being planned for the server side of things that will likely lead to some cookie and session management mechanisms that could be repurposed for client side support:
