Some issues with PyPortal ArduinoSelfTest

by Seba_K on Thu Aug 06, 2020 1:29 pm

Hello,

wasn't quite sure in which category to put this, so I'm posting here although it's not actually about CircuitPython.

I am trying to get the PyPortal_ArduinoSelfTest sketch from here running on a PyPortal Pynt, and run into some issues. Now, I'm not using Arduino IDE but Eclipse with the "Sloeber" plugin, which is unfortunately the best I could find so far for serious programming. But I seem to be missing some dependencies.

I installed Arduino SAMD boards v1.8.7, Adafruit SAMD boards 1.6.0.
Installed all the libraries mentioned here, except the Temp. sensor.
Removed all code related to the ADT7410 from the sketch.
Added Adafruit ImageReader library to the sketch (just for testing).

Now when I try to compile the sketch, it does not recognize:
- tft8bitbus : Where is it supposed to be defined?
- Adafruit_FlashTransport_QSPI : Where is it supposed to be defined?

Thanks!
Sebastian.

Whew, okay...figured it out.

It turns out I didn't have the latest versions of all the necessary libraries installed, since when I added them the library manager apparently wasn't yet updated to the newest versions. That fixed most of it.

Then I also noticed that the Eclipse/Sloeber combination apparently doesn't care too much if a library has an additional dependency - I had to install Adafruit BusIO manually for the latest GFX library to work. But now I am wondering if there are other dependencies I still miss - e.g. do I need the Adafruit STMPE610 library for the ILI9341 as well?

Oh yea, and I also had to figure out I need the SdFat Adafruit Fork.

Best regards.
