_EVE Bridgetek Gameduino Help

by AS_TCC on Sun Aug 09, 2020 2:58 pm

Hello,
I noticed the _EVE module was added to support Bridgetek display drivers, but I cannot find documentation that explains how it’s used. For instance, how do I configure the module for a specific Bridgetek driver? Is the module solely intended for use with Gameduino hardware or can it be used with other EVE displays?

Hello,
I'm not aware of any Adafruit library that uses the _EVE module, however I did find this python library that seems to do something similar, however I know nothing about it and cannot provide any help with it.

https://github.com/jamesbowman/py-bteve

good luck!

Hello siddacious,
Thank you for your response. the module I am referring to is [url]https://circuitpython.readthedocs.io/en/latest/shared-bindings/_eve/index.html, which I believe is what you have linked to. I have a display similar to https://www.newhavendisplay.com/nhd4348 ... -9569.html which has an EVE driver, but I am not understanding how to utilize _eve to get my feather m4 express and the display to talk. I couldn't find a guide or tutorial that would illuminate the subject, do you see anything I am missing? Is it just so dead simple that I shouldn't have to ask?
Hope your day is going great!

We don't have an Adafruit guide or tutorial because we didn't add the driver to CircuitPython. jamesbowman added it https://github.com/adafruit/circuitpython/pull/2581 So, I'd recommend reaching out to them.

I do know that the _eve module was meant to be a private module so you'll likely want to start with the library that siddacious linked.

Hi tannewt,
Thank you for the details, and explanation. I'll look into james' library and reach out there.
Kindly,
Travis Carter
