circuit python and the raspberry pi sense hat

Can circuit python be used to talk to the raspberry pi sense hat, instead of the sense hat software?

The sense hat libraries are in python. See https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/projects/getting-started-with-the-sense-hat. So yes. There's no reason you couldn't do without the sensehat module, but I don't see a great advantage to that. "CircuitPython" on the Pi is just Python 3 with Blinka.

I built a AstroPi replica and used CircuitPython to write button handlers: https://github.com/dastels/AstroPi. The examples show my "circuitpython based" button code along with the sensehat module.
