Ports of Circuitpython libs to Micropython?

by leonardd on Wed Sep 02, 2020 12:10 pm

Love my TinyPICO and HUZZAH32 both running micropython but was wondering if any ports have been made of some of the circuitpython Libraries such as the ones in the bundle?
Lots of great devices in that library that I would like to play with.

There are some out there for sure but I don't know of an good list or anything. I was in the same boat, bought a TinyPICO, and wanted to use some things that there were existing CircuitPython libraries for. It was not that bad to port the them at all and I learned a lot. In my case it was just replacing the CircuitPython SPI and Board library parts with MP and ESP32 compatible code. If you find something particular you want I am am happy to help out and at least try and point you in the right direction.

Another approach is to use Blinka. It was originally created to provide CircuitPython APIs on top of MicroPython. I don't think it gets much use though so it may be broken.
