PyPortal Titano Quote Display

by jammininmypjs on Wed Nov 18, 2020 8:17 pm

Hello,
I am trying to get this project: https://learn.adafruit.com/pyportal-adafruit-quote-board/code-pyportal-with-circuitpython running on the pyportal titano, but when I save the file I get the following error:

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "code.py", line 23, in <module>
File "adafruit_pyportal.py", line 251, in __init__
File "adafruit_pyportal.py", line 249, in __init__
  File "adafruit_pyportal.py", line 575, in play_file
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'WaveFile'

I made sure to download the uf2 for the Titano

Have you made sure CP and all the modules are up to date? I.e. the latest 6.x versions.

And you have installed the PyPortal build of CircuitPython?

OK. I just updated CP, installed the required modules from the latest 6.x bundle (Nov 18 2020), and the project files. It works fine... hmmm

CP is:
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
Adafruit CircuitPython 6.0.0 on 2020-11-16; Adafruit PyPortal Titano with samd51j20

Nope same thing. I redownloaded circuit python, hit the reset button twice and moved that over. I took a picture of my libraries and such if that helps

You would appear to have a bunch of old module files in lib.

Replace them with ones from the latest 6.x bundle.

And to confirm, you have the latest CircuitPython 6.0.0 installed?

I've made a habit of downloading the latest bundle every few days and deleting & replacing modules on the project I'm working on. It helps avoid getting things out of sync.

Hi I am trying to get this working on my new Titano as well with not much luck.. BUT first: the demo code has nothing to connect to WiFi ? how does this even work with out that code ? I assume I should just copy some other wifi connect (manager) stuff into if first?

It would be appreciated if you created a new thread for your question.
