Does PyPortal support BLE?
I wanted to try https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pyp ... python-ble but I keep getting the error... File "adafruit_airlift/esp32.py", line 170, in start_bluetooth
Attribute: 'module' object has no attribute 'ESP_TX'

I loaded the libraries:
* adafruit_airlift
* adafruit_ble

And I used with NINA_W102-1.7.1.bin and both adafruit-circuitpython-pyportal-en_US-6.0.0.uf2 / adafruit-circuitpython-pyportal-en_US-6.1.0-beta.1.uf2.

The specs do not say anything about bluetooth... maybe it is just not available on this device. https://www.adafruit.com/product/4116#technical-details. However the setup page https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pyp ... python-ble mentioned pyportal having everything wired up... so I was not sure.

PyPortals are WiFi devices, not Bluetooth.

Thanks. I was not clear if we just needed to reflash the ESP to access BLE mode instead of WIFI mode.
It's easy to use Adafruit AirLift ESP32 co-processor boards for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) with CircuitPython. When you reset the ESP32, you can put it in WiFi mode (the default), or in BLE mode; you cannot use both modes simultaenously. from https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-air ... python-ble

And the data sheet of the ESP chip in my PyPortal mentions BLE... https://www.espressif.com/sites/default ... eet_en.pdf

Ah. Ok, that's more advanced usage. As typically used in projects, the PyPortals are Wifi based.

You will need to update the ESP32 Firmware to access the BLE features. See https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-airlift-breakout/circuitpython-ble#update-the-airlift-firmware-3076330-14
