Resizing Icons and Images for PyPortal Titano Moderators: adafruit_support_bill, adafruit

Hi,

I am looking at using a PyPortal Titano and need to resize some images/icons that are used with the "Regular" PyPortal, is there a good tool to do this (I have tried using the Photos app on the Mac with no success), does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Matt,

Are you trying to convert existing image files (JPG/BMP/etc.) to another the Titano screen resolution which is 320x480?

I often use the MacOS Preview App for that kind of change.

Preview --> Tools --> Adjust Size

(then type in your Titano 320x480) resoltion

I tried that on the various files in the Weather Demo but if I modify them they just "become blank".

If you select one of the original images on your mac through the finder and hit CMD-I you should see the GetInfo screen that has a few more details about the image type and resolution. Maybe we can compare the original format information with the ones you have converted and find a clue about what the difference is between the two images that could be causing an issue on the Titano displaying?

Here you go, I "adjusted" the file 04n.bmp, the resized version is o4n copy.bmp,

The original works (but is small on the Titano screen) the resized version will not display.

I have feeling you just have the resolution reversed.

The image you are starting with is 320x240 and the image you are converting to is 480x320. However, when I lookup the Pyportal Titano it look like the resolution is 320x480. Can you try resizing again and flipping the width/height you had been using?

Titano has a bigger 3.5″ diagonal 320 x 480 color TFT
