Circuitpython Bundle 6.x 20210313

by akbykraz on Sat Mar 13, 2021 2:48 pm

Had to wipe my MagTag Project project so I reloaded with the latest 6.x bundle (20210313) with 6.2.0-beta.2 (forgot
to update to beta.3) ... My project now errors out with a 'pystack exhausted' (guess I working it too hard? lol) ... Checked
which libs were updated & found that rolling back the PortalBase to the 20210303 release eliminated the 'bug(?)' ...

Code snippet:

def take_a_nap(NAP_TIME):
# get current time from WorldTimeAPI for wakeup after 00:00
wtapi = magtag.network.fetch(DATA_SOURCE_TIME)
json_data = wtapi.json()
<-----------pystack exhausted error report
unxtym = json_data["unixtime"]
tymofs = json_data["raw_offset"]

Hi Skip, please file an issue on the MagTag library repo with the full example code: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_Ci ... Tag/issues

We'll need to figure out what changed in the libraries in that time. pystack exhausted can happen when code recurses deeply and runs out of memory for another function call.

Hi, Scott ... am getting ready 2 re-create my problem but not sure how 2 navigate the GitHub issue reporting ...
Hopefully I can get my re-creation done this week & then tackle trying to do the GitHub thing ... My 2 weeks after
my second shot is up on Friday, so I might B inclined to (2 paraphrase Queen) 'get on my (motor)cycle and
RIDE !

Thanks,
