Can't find BNO08x.mpy anywhere

by munnecke on Tue Mar 16, 2021 1:16 am

I'm trying to connected an adafruit BNO08x to my QT Py, but can't find the adafruit_BNO08x.mpy file in Circuit Python bundle. Any pointers to where it might be?

It is in the 6.x bundle https://circuitpython.org/libraries you will need to copy the folder named "adafruit_bno08x" to your QTPy. There is no file name adafruit_bno08x.mpy -- you need the whole folder and use it as in the examples.

edited to add:
The guide is out of date. It does refer to an adafruit_bno08x.mpy file and is incorrect. adafruit_bno08x is the name of the folder and the necessary files are contained in it.
Try the examples. https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-9-dof-orientation-imu-fusion-breakout-bno085/python-circuitpython#circuitpython-and-python-usage-3072354-19

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
import board
import busio
import adafruit_bno08x

i2c = busio.I2C(board.SCL, board.SDA)
bno = adafruit_bno08x.BNO08X(i2c)

while True:
    quat = bno.rotation_vector
    print("Rotation Vector Quaternion:")
    print("I: %0.3f J: %0.3f K: %0.3f Accuracy: %0.3f"%(quat.i, quat.j, quat.k, quat.accuracy))

Thank you for your prompt reply. I'm using just the basic QT Py (66kb memory). I run out of memory when I try to copy the modules onto the system. I'm usiing a new MacBook with M1 processor, and am wondering if OSX is adding any weird file system overhead to the files on CIRCUITPY.
