Qt Py SAMD21 Real Time Clock?

Post by johnmann »

I bought a few of the SAMD21 based Qt Py from Mouser for use in an ePaper wristwatch I’d built around the Seeeduino XIAO. It’s easier to modify the Adafruit version. But now I’m wondering whether the Qt Py SAMD21 supports a Real Time Clock. I don’t see a crystal on the board. Does anyone know?

The Qt Py uses an internal RC oscillator, so it doesn't need a crystal. However, it's less accurate that way, so I'm not sure you'd want to use it for time-keeping.

Thank you for the info Dan. I won’t be able to use that RC oscillator for timekeeping. Rats.
