MagTag Bent and Lose Reset Button

Post by mrunner »

I just received my MagTag yesterday, I noticed the reset button is bent and loose.

Is this fixable?

First.. does it work? I.e. is the button and board undamaged?

If so it can probably be fixed by removing and reattaching the button. That's if you have the equipment and skills to try it.

If so, it could save you waiting for a replacement.

Let me know (just respond to this).

Good news. The MagTag works. The reset button worked while it was still loosely attached. However the button broke off.

I am still a beginner at soldering. I have only soldered THT components. My SMD skills are non existent.

Instead of using a button I found that using a wire to short the reset points, does reset the MagTag. So that will be my work around until I get confortable with SMD soldering.

That's a manufacturing defect and you shouldn't have to fiddle with wires to reset it.

Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread, your order number, and request the replacement of one MagTag.
