16 bits from color sensor

by imrekiss on Sun Apr 01, 2018 11:41 am

Hi,

Is there a way to get 16 bits from color sensor using Circuitpython? Using the "sensor.color_raw" command I get 16 bits back but only the upper byte is active. The lower byte is always zero (the value increments by xff"). The sensor outputs 16 bits of color value so is there away to get that in Circuitpython or must I switch to Adafruit IDE?

thanks

Which color sensor are you using?

I am using the TCS34725 breakout version with ItsyBitsy MO Express.

Thank you.

To get 16-bit output from the TCS34725 you have to set the integration time to at least 154ms. Shorter integration times always produce lower values.
