Error Uploading code

Post by KeyboardDR »

So we bought 2 of these: https://www.adafruit.com/product/3677 (ItsyBitsy 32u4 - PRODUCT ID: 3677) so that we could auto enroll our chromebooks at the school I work at. 1 of the 2 works completely fine. However, the other get's an error that reads

Code: Select all

Error uploading, check if the selected board is currently available.
If you need pictures of it I can get them, they're just too large.

Hello KeyboardDR,

There are three likely possibilities here:

1. Make sure you are selecting your exact board from the Arduino IDE. There is a 3v and 5v version with a 8MHz and 16MHz option.

2. There is a required Windows driver depending on your Win version.

https://learn.adafruit.com/introducting ... rduino-ide

3. You must be using a valid USB Data cable. You can verify it with another microcontroller or USB storage device if you are unsure, but a random USB charge only cable is the most common reason for a board not being detected.

I have the correct board.

It's not a driver issue as I can program the other exact same model just fine.

cable is good as I used it for the other itsybitsy.

Gotcha.

Since you have two units and one works and the other does not (I assume on the same chromebook setup for both) we will get you a replacement if you qualify. When did you purchase these boards and was it through Adafruit?

I work for a school and it arrived July 2nd but we don't do the ordering. We're assuming it was ordered a week before that date. If you need concrete times I can see if I can get them.

Also, an unrelated note but my timestamps are incorrect. That lost post I sent was around 9:23am. I checked my timezone setting in my account and it is correct. It's set to Eastern US. Just thought I'd let you know.

Our timezone stuff is not functional in the forums. Apparently it is a rather complicated issue to resolve.

If you can get the order# for your Itsy Bitsy's you can send an e-mail to [email protected] and link them to this forum thread with the order# in the e-mail and they will send you a replacement board.
