I had to pick up an Itsy M0 I havent used for some time to run a code for experiment on another problem and it tripped a current draw alarm on the motherboard USB3 port.
When I unplugged it, the board was noticeably hot to the touch.
It's recognized and runs perfectly fine as far as I'm concerned but there's clearly a problem somewhere.
If my temperature senses are any accurate, main sources of heat were the chip itself and some components near the usb port.
I don't remember any problems with it the last time I used it so now I'm a bit confused as to what might have happened.

Inspect the board for any stray bits of wire or solder... anything that could be causing a short.

That was actually my first thought and I meticulously brushed the whole board with very soft toothbrush dipped in rubbing alcohol but that didn't change much.dastels wrote:Inspect the board for any stray bits of wire or solder... anything that could be causing a short.

Nothing is connected to the ItsyBitsy?

Nope, just the bare board connected to usb. Even when the code is done running, chip is still getting uncomfortably hot.dastels wrote:Nothing is connected to the ItsyBitsy?
