I tried using the Adafruit 1.14" 240x135 Color TFT Breakout LCD Display with the itsy bitsy M0 board.
I followed the wiring in the tutorial (changed the RST to -1 and wired to the itsy RST pin, changed the DC to pin 7 (no pin 8 on the itsy), wired MOSI and SCK to the itsy pins of the same names). I made the changes to the graphicstest.ino file in the tutorial. I get nothing on the LCD display. Not even seeing light leakage from the backlight. The LCD LIT, MISO, and SDCD pins are not hooked up. Also tried connecting the VIN to both the USB and the 3v pins on the itysy. (IE: using the 3v regulator on the display or on the itsy).
I bought two of these displays when they first came out for future projects, just got around to testing one of them today. Is it possible I have a bad display? The itsy is good, it's running a sketch with the DSP310 right now (wanted to use the display to show trends in barometer pressure).

Just to be clear - you've only tried one of them so far?I bought two of these displays when they first came out for future projects, just got around to testing one of them today.
Can you post a photo of your setup showing how everything is wired together.

Yes, only opened up one of the packages.

Thanks for the photo. Generally looks OK.

for commenting/uncommenting the specific lines used for that display?
Did that include the changes here?I made the changes to the graphicstest.ino file in the tutorial.

Yes, I modded the lines mentioned. Actually, it won't even compile if you don't make some of the changes!
Should the backlight come on if only the power and ground is connected? Looks like the LIT pin is pulled up (need to pull it down to shut OFF the backlight). Even if the LCD is not active SOME light should leak out through the sides, (it isn't).

Looks like the backlight on that one does not come on. I've setup a Itsy M0 here and it works OK. Can you try with the wiring per the guide? And hook up RST also just to test that it works.

Re: Adafruit 1.14" 240x135 Color TFT Breakout LCD Display
I've already wired it as per the guide, the only difference was using pin 7 instead of 8 for DC (no pin 8 on the itsy). I tried with RST to pin 9, and RST on the itsy.
I've attached the modified ino file.
No change.
OK, in a darkened room I CAN see some of the backlight leaking out from the edge of the display. It's MUCH fainter than I thought it would be, other TFT displays I've used in the past had more backlight leakage. So it's not the backlight, the LCD isn't working.
Maybe later I'll open up the other display, attach the pins and try it.

Re: Adafruit 1.14" 240x135 Color TFT Breakout LCD Display
Yep, I did same - used 7 instead of 8 for TFT_DC. Should just work.
Try the second display and see what happens. Another thing to try might be to more directly connect the TFT and Itsy. Avoid using the power rails for now.
Here's the full modifeid sketch.

Re: Adafruit 1.14" 240x135 Color TFT Breakout LCD Display
I copied your code and ran that. Added wires direct from VIN to 3V and GND to G in parallel with the rails.
Still no joy. I'll try the other display tomorrow, getting near diner time now......
Can't believe I might have zapped the display (ESD) while soldering, have a grounded solder station.
But, I'll be double sure and look for my wrist strap...... (wear that on my ankle, so it doesn't get in the way :-) ) when I solder the pins on the second one.....
Was thinking of using a 16x2 display on the I2C backpack. Would use the trinket M0 then as fewer IO lines required, but I'd rather use a graphics display to show trends as barometer rises and falls.
